其中，湖人后卫里夫斯今夏预计不会和球队提前续约——因为劳资协议的限制，里夫斯今夏能从湖人这里收到的最大的提前续约合同是4年8920万美元，因此，他预计不会接受这个提前续约，并将拒绝2026-27赛季的球员选项，于2026年休赛期试水自由市场。

Marks表示，里夫斯的白菜价合同（bargain contract）将对他上述的这一系列操作起到相当大的作用。
